DIMMU BORGIR, DARK TRANQUILLITY First-Week U.S. Sales Revealed
May 2, 2007DIMMU BORGIR's new album, "In Sorte Diaboli", has sold 14,000 copies in the United States in its first week of release to debut at position No. 43 on the Billboard chart. This is more than double the 6,400 first-week tally achieved by its predecessor, "Death Cult Armageddon", which came out in September 2003 and landed at position No. 169 on The Billboard 200 chart.
In other news, DARK TRANQUILLITY's new album, "Fiction", has sold 3,000 copies in the United States in its first week of release.
DIMMU BORGIR's official promotional video for the song "The Serpentine Offering" can be viewed at YouTube. The clip was shot by Swedish director Patric Ullaeus (LACUNA COIL, KAMELOT) of Revolver Film Company AB and is the group's first promotional video for its new album, "In Sorte Diaboli".
"In Sorte Diaboli" was mixed at Studio Fredman by producers Fredrik Nordström and Patrik J. Sten. DIMMU BORGIR recorded the effort with the following lineup:

As previously reported, DARK TRANQUILLITY has posted its video for the song "Focus Shift" on YouTube.com. The clip was directed by Roger Johansson, who previously worked with the group on the "Lost to Apathy" and "The New Build" videos from the 2005 release "Character". The "Focus Shift" video is featured on the limited-edition version of "Fiction". The limited album version also includes a bonus DVD with live songs, behind-the-scenes footage, and last album's "The New Build" promo video. Cover artwork was once again created by the band's guitarist Niklas Sundin.
